Your choice, explained

A little help.
An informed choice.

Optional AI is being built to turn a meal photo or a few words into a draft entry. You’ll review it before it joins your diary.

What leaves your phone?

Voice entry is planned to turn speech into text on your device. The AI service receives the resulting text, not the audio. It does not receive your entire diary.

Where does it go?

Your request passes through Praelion’s server, planned for London, to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI processes data in the US and potentially other countries. London hosting does not mean all processing stays in the UK.

The AI returns a draft list of foods, portions and, for text entry, any symptoms you included. Food trigger-group tags are assigned by the app’s own catalogue, not by AI. The result is not a diagnosis or a recommendation to restrict your diet.

Who keeps a copy?

Praelion Ltd does not save AI text, photos or results on its servers or in application logs. OpenAI may keep abuse-monitoring content for up to 30 days by default, or longer for legal or safety reasons. Zero Data Retention is not assumed.

OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the customer opts in. Praelion must keep that opt-in disabled. Images flagged for potential child sexual abuse material can be retained for manual review, including under some reduced-retention arrangements.

You can read OpenAI’s API data-use documentation for its current terms.

We do keep small operational records, such as consent receipts and daily request counts. The proposed retention periods and provider arrangements need final review before launch.

You get to say no.

AI processing needs your explicit consent, through an unticked checkbox in the app. Declining won’t block manual logging or the rest of the non-AI diary.

You’ll be able to withdraw through Settings → Privacy → Withdraw AI consent. This stops future AI requests. Withdrawal does not undo processing that has already happened or immediately remove records a provider is legally required to retain.

Always check the draft.

AI can miss ingredients, guess a portion incorrectly, or misunderstand your words. Review and correct entries before saving them. Photos cannot reliably identify allergens or hidden ingredients.
